| BALTIMORE ORIOLE Icterus galbula |
| The male is a bright, flaming orange bird with a black head and black extending down nape of his neck onto the back. Black wings with white and orange wing bars. He has a orange tail with a few black streaks. The female is a pale yellow bird with gray brown wings, white wing bars, and a gray bill with dark eyes. The nest is pendulous, the female builds it all alone, they have one brood per year. The baby oriole looks the same as the mother. The female incubates 12- 14 days and the fledgings take about 12 to 14 days The dad and mom both feed the children. They migrate to Mexico, Central and South Americas. They eat inscts, fruit, nectar, and will visit orange halves and nectar feeders. |
