CAROLINA WRENS IN OUR FRONT YARD
                            SPRING 2004
BEAUTY FROM CAROLINA! LOL

IN THE EARLY SPRING, I WATCHED THESE TWO BUILDING THEIR NEST, I WAS SO ENTHUSED ABOUT THESE TINY BIRDS!  THEY SANG FOR ME EVERY MORNING. THEY WERE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL
BIRDS THAT I HAD EVER LAID MY EYES ON.
I WOKE UP EVERY MORNING TO THEIR WAKE UP CALL!  I GOT UP AND MET THEM OUTSIDE WITH MY SONY MAVICA! WE HAD A WONDERFUL SPRING. THEY GOT SO ATTACHED TO ME THAT THEY DIDN'T EVEN CARE IF I WAS THERE! THEY JUST WENT ON WITH LIFE

The male has a rusty brown head and back with an orange yellow chest and belly. White throat and a prominent white eye stripe. Short stubby tail often cocked up.  The juvenile and female are same as male. She has 4-6 creamy eggs with   brown markings
Incubation periodd is 12-14 days.
Fledgings appear in about 12-14 days!
Mom and Dad both feed babies!
The nest is a cavity with both Mom and dad building!
