| JUST ONE OF GODS BEAUTIFUL CREATURES |
| Just one of Gods beautiful creatures I see you my soft feathered friend Flying through the air Flapping those wings Above my jeep Then you light in a tree and turn your head toward me My spirit sings to see such beauty rare Do I even dare I cannot look upon him without knowing for sure That I've entered Gods door My heart begins to weep One eye and only one eye Out here in the big blue sky Little Barred Owl, you look at me again And I see more beauty than I’ve ever seen Because My Master speaks to me in soft tones "Now Daughter don't you already know that he's never alone" While he’s talking, I begin to smile He teaches me lesson after lesson As I face each daily trial My little friendly barred owl even though fate has dealt you an uneven deal Your feathers are still beautiful and fluffy like soft cotton so lovely, alive and real not one feather out of place yet blowing in the wind I feel all your joy to no end Sitting here in my jeep, camera in hand I feel the spirit of the living God As he captures me from head to toe It's like I've been dipped in a spring shower This Spirit I feel will never grow old Just look at you little friend That large brown eye can still see far into your future Your habitat is Gods good earth Isn’t it wonderful to see such stuff I’m sure you’ve explored it since birth These wonderful blue skies that reach the heart of God flowers, butterflies, and bees All gather around in all the trees The deer, the coon, the squirrel, and every mammal of the forest You can see every day. Is that not the way the forest is? It has to be wonderful in every way! I ponder all this over in my mind Thinking about God and time, Then I look and those strong talons grip the tree, I must stay clear Or you’ll see even ME lol That mean old blue jay that keeps chasing you around should think about Moving to higher ground and I’m not just writing this in Because all this was happening in front of my eyes Oh well, my heart does leap and meet the sky I spent the evening with this barred Owl, Just me, My Father and I! Wow, some enchanted evening!! ©Mary Alice Bowles 12/7/05 |
